Concrete
Performance is the key to TXI's continued success. From
rapid response to our customers ready-mix needs to meeting and/or exceeding
mix design specifications, TXI's customers receive the highest degree
of quality products and services.
We view the customer/supplier relationship as a partnership,
and like a partner, we strive for all projects, from the simplest to the
most complex, to finish on time, and under budget. To facilitate this
effort we offer hundreds of mix designs, and a wide range of concrete
products.
Our belief in continuous improvement (as evidenced through
our state of the art computer systems in batching, dispatch and communications)
drives us to maximize delivered value to you. We do this through continuous
quality control of the separate ingredients (fine aggregates, coarse aggregates,
cement and admixtures) at the various plants that manufacture these products.
This is an advantage brought to you through the vertical integration of
TXI.
Our ready-mix quality control department
also tests the actual mixed concrete, the combination of coarse aggregate,
fine aggregate, cement with water, to verify that it meets the specifications
of your project. These steps ensure the quality of the concrete delivered
to your project-site.

Architectural
Concrete
TXI has experience designing specialty concrete with added textures,
colors, and overall appeal. These custom designs may be written by
the Architect, Specifier, or material supplier. Contact TXI for aid
in design.
Uses include: pavements, foundations, sidewalks, walkways, patios,
swimming pool decks, reinforced concrete buildings, precast &
prestressed concrete, bridges, railway structures , tanks, reservoirs,
culverts, water pipe or in any other project that you wish to differentiate.

High
Performance Concretes
10,000+ psi concrete High-Strength concrete is typically defined with
specifications of 6000 psi or more. High-Strength is normally attained
through the incorporation of chemical and/or mineral admixtures.
Uses include: massive construction such as piers, abutments, large
retaining walls, mass dams, precast & prestressed concrete,
structural concrete, and mat foundations.
|
Specialty
Concrete
Constructed of specialty cements and aggregates, to provide a variety
of colors and textures. Use of special aggregates from our aggregate
organization and special cements from our cement organization allow
the architect or engineer to design one-of-a-kind structures at will.
There are no limitations.
Uses include: pavements, foundations, sidewalks, walkways, patios,
swimming pool decks, reinforced concrete buildings, precast &
prestressed concrete, bridges, railway structures, tanks, reservoirs,
culverts, water pipe and masonry units.

Mass
Ready Mixed Concrete
(Design: ACI 211, ACI 214, ACI 318) (Delivery: ASTM C 94) The term
Mass Ready Mixed Concrete refers to any volume of concrete
with dimensions large enough to require that measures be taken to
cope with the heat liberated through the hydration of cement and the
resulting thermal stresses to minimize cracking and any impairment
to strength. TXI produces custom concrete to comply with the purchasers
specifications and all associated ASTM standards.
Uses include pavements, foundations, sidewalks, walkways, patios,
swimming pool decks, structural concrete, reinforced concrete buildings,
precast & prestressed concrete, bridges, railway structures,
curbs, tanks, reservoirs, culverts, water pipe and masonry units.
(Available in Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas).

Lightweight Concrete
(Design: ACI 211, ACI 214, ACI 318) (Delivery: ASTM C 94) This concrete
is similar to normal concrete but has expanded shale and clay (ESC)
used as the coarse aggregate (as opposed to stone or gravel). Lightweight
concrete has been used for practically every type of structural
application. Lightweight concrete is commonly provided at all compressive
strengths, including high strength of 6,000 to 8,000 psi or more
when required. Important properties of Lightweight concrete include:
reduced dead-load weight and increased insulative power.
Uses include: multi-story buildings (such as high-rise buildings),
roads, bridges, structural concrete, pavements, foundations, sidewalks,
walkways, patios, swimming pool decks, reinforced concrete buildings,
bridges, precast & prestressed concrete, railway structures,
tanks, reservoirs, culverts, water pipe and masonry units. (Available
throughout Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas).

| Pumpable
Lightweight Concrete
TXI has skilled experts in this area, with over 30 years of experience
in designing pumpable lightweight concrete. This is specifically
important for the construction of multi-level projects, and any
project where lightweight concrete must be placed long distances
from where it is initially discharged.
Uses include multi-story buildings (such as high-rise buildings),
roads, bridges, structural concrete, pavements, foundations, sidewalks,
walkways, patios, swimming pool decks, reinforced concrete buildings,
bridges, precast & prestressed concrete, railway structures,
tanks, reservoirs, and culverts.

Specialty
Admixtures
Accelerators, Super Plasticizers, Finishing Enhancers, Crack Reducing
Fiber Reinforcement, and Silica Fume. Please refer to our Admixture
Usage Chart (53K) for more information. Temperature Controlled Concrete
TXI has experience in controlling the temperature of concrete mixtures
when needed. This is particularly important in extreme weather conditions.
Uses include pavements, foundations, sidewalks, walkways, patios,
swimming pool decks, reinforced concrete buildings, precast &
prestressed concrete, bridges, railway structures, tanks, reservoirs,
culverts, water pipe, and any other project in which concrete temperature
could be a factor.
